Who we help

From the backyard above-ground pool to the water park. If it holds water, it's our business. Same expert, scaled to the job.

  • First-time pool owners
  • Small pool, same respect

Residential in-ground

  • Homeowners who maintain their own pool
  • Owners comparing equipment or upgrades
  • Anyone holding a repair quote they're unsure about

Commercial

  • Apartments, HOAs, and community pools
  • Hotels, gyms, and swim schools
  • Property managers and maintenance staff

Resorts and water parks

  • Resorts and large aquatic facilities
  • Water parks and multi-pool operations
  • Multi-site operators. The big dogs.

What a consultation covers

If it holds water, moves water, heats water, or cleans water, we can talk you through it. We speak fluent Pentair, Hayward, Jandy, and Polaris, plus several regional dialects of "it's making a weird noise."

Illustration of a pool equipment pad with a pump, cartridge filter, and heater 84° Pump: the heart. Filter: the kidneys. Heater: the diva.
A typical equipment pad. When one part acts up, the others usually take it personally.

Water chemistry

Read your test results, fix cloudy or green water, and set a routine that keeps it balanced.

Equipment troubleshooting

Pumps, filters, heaters, salt cells, cleaners, and automation. Find the problem before you pay for a service call.

Repair quote second opinions

Send the quote. We'll tell you if the work and the price make sense.

Buying advice

Choose the right pump, filter, heater, or cleaner for your pool size and budget across Jandy, Polaris, Pentair, and Hayward.

Maintenance plans

Weekly and seasonal schedules for owners and for commercial staff, written for your pool.

Commercial operations

Chemical logs, staff routines, and equipment planning for pools that see heavy use.

  3. Get your call

We call you at your booked time by phone or video and walk you through the fix.

The pool problem field guide

The calls we get most. What's causing yours, and how to fix it, is what the call is for. Spoiler: it's almost never haunted. It's almost always the impeller.

Green water

Somewhere between "slightly off" and "frog sanctuary." There's more than one reason this happens, and the fix depends on which one you've got.

Solve it on a call

Cloudy water

You can't see the bottom. The bottom can't see you. Guessing at the cause is how people spend $200 on chemicals that don't work.

Solve it on a call

Pump won't prime

It hums. It gurgles. It does nothing useful. Often fixable without a service visit, if you know exactly where to look.

Solve it on a call

Heater won't fire

It clicks, thinks about it, and gives up. Heaters don't fail quietly, and they don't fail without a reason.

Solve it on a call

Salt cell errors

It says check salt. You checked. It still says check salt. Your salt system is trying to tell you something, just not clearly.

Solve it on a call

Strange noises

Screeching, rattling, or a blender full of gravel. Every noise points somewhere specific, and we know the map.

Pool myths we bust every week

Free of charge. Consider it a sample.

A strong chlorine smell means too much chlorine.

Usually the opposite. That smell comes from chloramines, used-up chlorine. It's a sign the pool needs more free chlorine, not less.

Saltwater pools don't use chlorine.

They do. The salt cell turns salt into chlorine. It's still a chlorine pool, just one that makes its own.

If the water's clear, it's balanced.

Clear water can still be eating your plaster or scaling your heater. Balance protects the equipment and your wallet.

A bigger pump means a cleaner pool.

An oversized pump wastes power and can strain your filter. A variable-speed pump on a lower setting often filters better for far less money.

Just keep shocking it until it turns blue.

If your stabilizer is too high, chlorine can't do its job and no amount of shock keeps up. Sometimes the real fix is draining and refilling part of the pool. We'll tell you which situation you're in before you buy another bag.

The Big 3: Texas, Florida, California

The three biggest pool markets in the country, and three very different sets of problems. We know all three.

Texas

Brutal summer heat, hard water in many areas, and freezes that show up when nobody's ready. We know exactly what that does to water and equipment.

Florida

Pools that run year-round, heavy rain, humidity, and screen enclosures. A pool that never gets a day off needs an expert who doesn't either.

California

Hard water, water restrictions, energy rules for pool equipment, and strict local codes. We know the rulebook, so you don't have to read it.

We did our homework

We know the national chains, the franchise stores, and the local shops in all three markets. You get advice that fits your area, not a one-size-fits-all answer.

We're here to change the game.

Most pool owners get advice from whoever is trying to sell them something. We sell answers. Whether it's a backyard pool or a water park, you get a straight, expert opinion you can act on.

Your consultant: Bob

25+years in the residential and commercial pool industry
CPO® certifiedCPI certified

Bob has seen the problem behind your problem, and probably the one behind that one too. Over more than 25 years he has worked every side of the pool business: behind the counter, at the equipment pad, and in the lab.

High-volume retail pool store management

Years of running busy pool stores means a nonstop flow of customer questions, every major brand on the shelf, and a sharp sense of which products actually work and which just look good on the label.

Field maintenance and repairs

Real time at real equipment pads. Pumps, filters, heaters, salt systems, and automation on both residential and commercial pools, from routine service to the repairs nobody else could figure out.

CPO® and CPI certified

Bob holds both CPO® (Certified Pool Operator) and CPI certifications, the credentials the industry trusts for operating, inspecting, and keeping pools safe and up to standard. In other words, he has the paperwork to back up the opinions.

Lab-trained water chemistry

Extensive lab training in water chemistry. Your test results get read the way a chemist reads them, not the way a guess does.

Retail, field, and lab experience rarely live in one person. With Bob, you get all three on one call, without a truck roll or a sales pitch. We would rather save you a service call than sell you one.

Questions

Are consultations by phone or video?

Both. Choose when you book. We don't do on-site visits, which keeps sessions fast and affordable.

What should I have ready?

Your latest water test results, photos or video of your equipment and its labels, your pool size if you know it, and any repair quotes.

Can I reschedule a booked session?

Yes, with at least 24 hours' notice. Missed sessions without notice aren't refunded.

How does the membership contract work?

Memberships run for 12 months at a locked monthly rate. If you end it before 12 months, a one-time early termination fee applies: $150 for residential and $400 for commercial.

Can you diagnose a pump by the sound I make imitating it?

More often than you'd think. A real recording is better, though. Hold your phone near the equipment and we'll listen together.

Can you find a part for my old or discontinued equipment?

Usually, yes. Send us the model number or a photo of the label. If the exact part is no longer made, we'll look for a compatible replacement.

Will you tell me if I don't need the repair I was quoted?

Yes. That's one of the most common reasons people book. Sometimes the quote is right on, and we'll tell you that too.

Which states do you serve?

We specialize in Texas, Florida, and California, the three biggest pool markets in the country. Calls work anywhere, so if your pool is somewhere else, we can still help.

Do you work with above-ground pools and water parks?

Yes, and everything in between. Above-ground and inflatable pools, backyard in-ground pools, commercial pools, resorts, and water parks.
